Game Who?

“How far that little candle throws his beams!

So shines a good deed in a naughty world.”

GameWick Games LLC is a New Jersey game company that seeks to keep gaming in its natural state: face-to-face. As an indie game company, GameWick brews unique games that thrive on imagination and dice. The Wick in GameWick is Larry Wickman (aka L. Willy), the mini-mind behind the dice and the rules.

The company’s first game was WEGS Old Skool, a ruleset for sword-n-sorcery skirmish and roleplay. It premiered at Gen Con 2007. The next three years GameWick attended as many cons as possible and, bit by bit, built a loyal and fun-loving fanbase of Old Skoolers.

In the summer of 2010, Old Skool was revised, expanded, and published as WEGS Old Skool Redux.  Also released at this time was WEGS Dice Rule!, an advanced set of rules. One year later, The Ultimate Dungeon Party hit the streets. This deck of cards included six new Arks (characters) for the game.

In the winter of 2011/12, the WEGS Old Skool Deluxe Edition was released. This super bundle included a starter adventure called Ogres Bluff and six Ark Kards, all neatly tucked into a hang hole bag (a classic packaging ploy of some of the earliest role-playing games). The hang hole bag was great for convention sales, but not so good for major market distribution (but that wasn’t really the company’s goal).

In the summer of 2012, the company launched their first non-WEGS game, Pittsburgh 68 – A Game of Shuffling Horror. This card and dice game started making its way into stores toward the end of that year.

GameWick Games always has more games in the proverbial pipes

(so many that their pipes are prone to clog).

They just never know what game will pop out next…
